_ MATÍAS TOMBOLINI

I was born in Santa Fe on March 5, 1974. I am an economist, professor, researcher, and author.Soy economista, docente, investigador y autor. I’m married to María Storman and father to Camila, Segundo, and Sofía.
I earned my degree in Economics from the Faculty of Economic Sciences at the University of Buenos Aires in 2001. I later completed a Master’s in International Economic Relations, jointly awarded by FLACSO and the University of Barcelona, and a postgraduate program in the History of Economic Thought, also at FLACSO.
Since 1997, I have been dedicated to university teaching. I currently hold the chair in Economics at the Common Basic Cycle (CBC) and serve as Adjunct Professor of Macroeconomics and Economic Policy at the Faculty of Economic Sciences of the University of Buenos Aires.
Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to contribute as a columnist in mass media, write books to bring economics closer to everyday life, and serve in various public administration roles. In 2016, I received the Martín Fierro Radio Award for Best Political Columnist due to my work on Perros de la Calle. Throughout my career, I have collaborated with media outlets such as Telefe, Radio Mitre, and América TV.
My calling for public service was born at university, during my years of student activism, and grew over time with every step I took along the way. I ran as a candidate for national deputy in 2017 and 2021, and for Mayor of the City of Buenos Aires in 2019, where I placed third in the voters’ preference.
I am currently involved in political activities as a member of Sergio Massa’s team.
In 2018, I founded the party Avancemos por el Progreso Social, which maintains an active presence in the City, as well as the Innovación con Inclusión Foundation, a space dedicated to technological development with a social focus. Both institutions continue to work every day, committed to strengthening democratic life and promoting progress in Buenos Aires.
Throughout the years, I’ve published five books aimed at making complex economic concepts more accessible, always with a clear and practical approach. In public service, I have held several roles: President of the Economic and Social Council of Buenos Aires City (2018), Vice President of the Bank of the Argentine Nation (2019–2022), President of ARSAT (2022), and National Secretary of Domestic Trade (2022–2023).
Today, I work as an independent economic consultant and advisor. I also lead projects focused on technological development and artificial intelligence applied to economic analysis and the national situation.
